Thiamine is the precursor of the biologically active form of vitamin B1, thiamine pyrophosphate (TPP). In order to convert thiamine into TPP, magnesium is needed. Thiamine pyrophosphate (TPP) is a co-enzyme for various biological processes such as the energy metabolism, to create energy out of fatty acids, carbohydrates and protein. TPP is needed in every single cell of the body, including the heart and (central) nervous system, which means it plkays an important role for a proper functioning heart and central nervous system. TPP is also needed in the brain and nerves, that are important for focus, memory and mood.
Vitamine B1 250 mg from Vitals offers a high dose of thiamine in its purest form. The capsule itself is made from cassave starch, while the filler is made from rice starch.
It is recommended to use vitamin B1 along with a vitamin B-complex supplement or a regular multi vitamin since nearly all B-vitamins work together.
