Q-absorb 30mg 120 softgels - ubiquinone (co-enzym Q10) with phospholipids - discontinued
Discontinued, we refer you to another co-enzyme Q10 product
Jarrow Formulas Q-absorb 30mg 120 softgels.
Q-absorb is by far the best absorbed and utilized form of Co Q10 supplements due to the liposome connection of Co-Q10 with phospholipids. 4 times better retained than ordinary Q10 supplements which are purely based on dry powder as capsules or tablets.
CoQ10 promotes energy production by supporting mitochondrial function, and promotes antioxidant protection throughout the body.
who can benefit from Q-absorb?
Q-absorb contains nutrients that are important in all stages of life. It is particularly important for the aging, tired, those with heart conditions, certain problems during pregnancy, for neurodegenerative support, or those taking statin drugs.
what distinguishes Q-absorb?
• most economic form of regular Co Q10
• high absorption of co Q10
• natural proliposome delivery system
• No synthetic surfactants
• Pharmaceutical Grade 100% natural all-trans isomer Kaneka Q10 quality
Q-absorb is only available from Jarrow Formulas.
Co-enzyme Q10: a conditionally essential nutrient
Coenzyme Q10, or CoQ10, is critically involved in metabolism. Humans synthesize some CoQ10 and obtain some from food. However, aging and illness can reduce synthesis and the ability to absorb CoQ10. CoQ10 levels decrease also due to cancer, drugs, diabetes mellitus, Alzheimer’s disease, other neurodegenerative disorders, and especially cardiovascular disorders. For many of these conditions, CoQ10 supplementation is prudent, if not necessary.
What is co-Q10?
CoQ10 is chemically related to vitamins E and K. It is called ubiquinone because it is widely distributed in nature. CoQ10 is synthesized in all cells for energy production, and serves as an antioxidant in membranes. Its role in energy production holds special importance for the heart and brain. These, and certain muscle tissues, are spectacularly endowed with mitochondria (subcellular furnaces), where CoQ10 promotes fat and carbohydrate breakdown to produce more than 90% of our energy. CoQ10 facilitates electron transfer within mitochondrial membranes to produce ATP, the body’s energy currency.
CoQ10 is also present in cell membranes to maintain fluidity for proper performance of membrane receptors, carriers and enzymes. It is involved in kidney function, periodontal (gum) health, blood sugar regulation, cognitive functioning, and may help regulate body weight. CoQ10 also plays a role in blood pressure regulation.
The added benefits of Q-absorb
Most CoQ10 supplements are poorly absorbed. However, Jarrow Formulas Q-absorb technology improved absorption up to 493% over baseline in humans, and kept absorption levels beyond 400% after 30 days. Q-absorb employs a natural pro-liposome, lipid-soluble delivery system clinically shown to increase CoQ10 levels, outperform dry CoQ10 capsules, and reduce the time required to see effects. By reducing the CoQ10 required to raise blood concentration, Q-absorb improves mitochondrial function and anti-oxidant activity.
Anti-oxidant effects of co-Q10
Aging is accelerated by free radicals, which cause cellular damage and weaken immunity. Free radicals steal electrons from other molecules. This process — known as oxidation —promotes deterioration of mitochondria and other tissues. Damaged tissues are deemed foreign, and attacked by the immune system. As oxidative damage increases with age, this taxes the immune system, which becomes less efficient over time. Diverted to fight free radicals, the immune system becomes exhausted, and too drained to fight infection.
CoQ10 supplementation may be imperative at such times. Its powerful antioxidant action can be as effective as vitamin E in decreasing free radicals. Alpha-tocopherol taken alone can make serum LDL more prone to oxidation.
Co-supplementation with CoQ10 promotes healthy vitamin E activity and LDL existence. Indeed, alpha-tocopherol alone reduces CoQ10 levels, indicating that CoQ10 regenerates the vitamin, as well as vitamin C. Thus, CoQ10 supplementation may be required to optimize antioxidant benefi ts of vitamin E.
Co-Q10 and the heart
CoQ10 can improve many cardiac parameters, and some progressive doctors use it to improve cardiac function. Millions of people around the world take CoQ10 everyday for cardiovascular support, but only a small percentage of these are Americans. Perhaps this is because in the U.S. CoQ10 is regulated as a dietary supplement. However, U.S. physicians are increasingly recommending it to their patients due to growing clinical evidence of its benefits.
Many more Americans take statin medications. Cholesterol-lowering drugs inhibit an enzyme called HMG-CoA reductase. However, this inhibition also blocks CoQ10 synthesis, and can reduce CoQ10 production nearly twice as much as that of LDL cholesterol. CoQ10 can also drop significantly in women with pre-eclampsia, compared to normal pregnant women. Knowledgeable physicians are aware of CoQ10 benefi ts and recommend accordingly.
Jarrow Formulas actively supports CoQ10 heart disease research.
Q-absorb was shown to improve endothelial (blood vessel wall) function in patients with heart disease, including improved arterial dilation and increased peak VO2 (volume of oxygen consumed). Q-absorb with exercise therapy resulted in the greatest gains, with endothelial dysfunction nearly normalized, while protecting muscle injury. Q-absorb (100 mg CoQ10) given at each meal showed improved heart function, enhanced vasodilation, increased extracellular SOD concentration and tripled plasma CoQ10 levels.
In summary Co-Q10:
• maintains integrity of electron transfer in mitochondria for energy production
• helps maintain membrane flexibility
• is an important dietary anti-oxidant
What is co-enzyme Q10 and why is it important for our health?
Co-enzyme Q10, mostly shortened to Q10 is present in almost every single cell of our body. The other name for Q10 is ubiquinone, which is derived from the Latin word ubiquitous ('everywhere').
Co-enzyme Q10 is important for cellular processes in which it helps to produce energy for growth and maintenance. Co-Q10 also works as an antioxidant that protects you from the same energy-making process it’s also involved in.
While your body is capable of producting co-enzyme Q10 from food, the ability to do so, declines with age. This is why Q10 is called a conditionally essential nutrient, meaning it is required to be supplemented as we grow old.
Dry, drier, driestNow autumn finally arrived, some of us will notice the skin gets drier and drier. In a mild case of extreme dryness, we will notice flaky and a reddened skin. In a more severe case, you will get chapped skin due to the cracked upper layer, which can be especially painful at the heels.
