Cinnamon is among the oldest and most consumed spice in the world. Its use for health has been documented as far back as 2700 B.C. In Europe, the Greeks and Romans were the first to use cinnamon as a spice in the kitchen. This habit has been adopted by other Europeans in the 17th century. Due to the fragrant scent, cinnamon is also used in perfumes.
There are 300 different types of cinnamon. The four most important are Cinnamomum zeylanicum / verum (Sri Lanka), C. cassia / aromaticum (China), C. loureiri (Vietnam) and C. burmannii (Indonesia). The spice cinnamon can be used as a health product. However, it is more effective to take a specially developed extract instead of consuming large amounts of cinnamon powder. Cinnamon PF (pure formulation) from Vitals contains the pure and high-quality water extract from Indonesian cinnamon, named Cinulin PF®.
Components of cinnamon
Cinnamon as a spice contains components that may be toxic in large amounts, such as cinnamaldehyde and coumarin. Cinnamaldehyde is fat-soluble, since it is part of the essential oils in cinnamon. The advantage of a water extract is that it does not contain the fat-soluble components of cinnamon, such as the undesirable cinnamaldehyde. A water extract does contain some coumarin, but with Cinulin PF®, the amount of this is always kept as low as possible and verified with laboratory tests. Coumarine ensures the tasty and recognizable taste of cinnamon, but it is nevertheless not recommended to ingest it in too large quantities.
The phytonutrients that are particularly responsible for the beneficial health effects of cinnamon are the so-called proanthocyanidines type A (also called type a polymers). These are substances that fall under the polyphenols category, which should be present in a good cinnamon supplement in large quantities.
Cinnamon supports the maintenance of a normal blood glucose level in different ways. The proanthocyanidines type A in cinnamon contribute to a normal insulin sensitivity of the tissues, so that glucose can easily enter the cell from the blood to be stored, among other things in the form of glycogen. Proanthocyanidines Type A also have an antioxidant effect. They protect, among other things, the β cells in the pancreas against oxidative damage, allowing insulin synthesis in the β cells and the blood glucose level to remain normal.
In addition, cinnamon supports the metabolism of glucose and fats in fatty tissue and it has a favorable influence on satiety after a meal, making it contribute to healthy weight control.
Finally, cinnamon contributes to the maintenance of healthy blood lipid levels (such as triglycerides and cholesterol). This is important for the maintenance of a healthy cardiovascular function.
IN ingredients is the producer of Cinnulin PF®, the cinnamon extract in Kaneel-PF. Multiple human studies have been done with this high-quality water extract. This is quite unique for a cinnamon product. Cinulin PF® is standardized on Proanthocyanidines Type A, the most important active substance in cinnamon. 'Standardized' means that after each production, an independent laboratory will check whether the extract really contains a minimum of these phytonutrients. With each laboratory check, coumarin levels are measured as well, to make sure those are low enough. This way you can be assured of an excellent and biologically active supplement with Kaneel-PF.

The true danger of COVID-19 vaccines : why we should avoid leaky vaccinesTwo weeks ago I wrote in my blog on how I did not want a vaccine out of madness because governments won't allow the use of HCQ or ivermectin, both of which are both safe and cheap treatments against COVID-19.
However, I said to not see anything wrong in the vaccine itself. By now I've changed my mind. No, I don't actually deem mRNA vaccines to be unsafe, nor am I too worried about the very rare side-effects of clotting.
What truly spooked me is the fact these are 'leaky' vaccines, which allows viruses to still infect people despite being vaccinated. They just won't get sick, but can become hosts of viruses that may still infect unvaccinated people. Who , in the end no longer will have any other choice but to get vaccinated when a virus has mutated into a too dangerous variant.
At least this is the theory from dr Geert Vanden Bossche, a prominent virologist who spoke out against massive vaccination.
Why is the fact those vaccines are leaky so scary? Let me explain with an article on Marek's disease in chickens.
Why can resistant starch improve your blood sugar balance?
Among the most popular good intentions we have before the new year starts is to improve health and lose weight.
Sadly, for many of us, those good intentions fall by the wayside within as little as 1 or 2 weeks. The main reason for failing on any given diet is that it tends to be a too drastic change in how we tend to eat.
Which for most of us, tends to be a moderate to high-carb diet, which for most Dutch people tends to revolve around bread and potatoes. That will make it very hard if you want to make a switch to a low-carb diet as is the norm these days.
However, I've got good news for you! You may not need to give up on all of your carbs. Instead, you can try to switch from carbs that have a negative impact on your blood sugar balance, towards slow-acting carbs also known as ... resistant starch.
Even when you are quite happy about eating a (very) low-carb diet, there are still ways to increase the amount of resistant starch in your diet, without drastically increasing the amount of calories and 'net carbs'.
Therefore the article below will tell you everything about resistant starch you need to know.
take 1 capsule twice daily, half an hour before a major meal or as directed by your qualified health care consultant.
