Echinacea extract 60 capsules - organic extract from Echinacea purpurea | Vitals
Vitals Echinacea extract or the purple cone flower (Echinacea purpurea) is a plant originally from Norther America. By now, it is very well known in Europe too, due to its beneficial effect on the immune system and most particularly on the respiratory system.
The highest concentration of active ingredients is found in the root. The root contains a broad spectrum of active ingredients such as polysaccharides, alkylamides, and cichoric acid. Alkylamides are fat-soluble substances found in the root. These improve aspecific immunity by supporting the normal function of macrophages.
Polysacharides and cichoric acid are water-soluble substances that improve specific (adaptieve) immunity by supporting B-cells as well as the creation of interleukins and immunoglobulins.
The active substances of plants are well hidden inside cells. Plant cells are surrounded by tough and fibrous cellulose cell walls. This necessitates careful extraction to liberate the active ingredients from the plant cells so as they become available for the hun body. A herbal medicine that will solely contain the herb (not the extract) will be far less effective. .
The active ingredients from echinacea are both lipophilic and hydrophilic. This means it is important to select an extration method that isolates and extracts both types of components from the roots.
Unique extraction method
The PhytoPrevent extraction method is very much suited to result in a high quality extract. Typical for this patented method is how a solvent is used that uses water and alcohol in varying concentrations, resulting on extraction of both the hydrophilic and lipophilic components that make this such a powerful herbal medicine.
It is important to isolate as much as possible from the original root because there is still so little iknown about how the various components actually work and it is most likely the ingredients work synergistically.
Another advantage of this unique PhytoPrevent product is how only organically grown echinacea is used. The final product is free of alcohol, and freeze-dried so they are not exposed to high temperatures during the production process. PhytoPrevent herbal extracts are produced in Europe according to a patented extraction method, preserving as many of the beneficial properties of the plant as possible.

Particulate matter and your healthAs the Dutch government decided to move away from natural fossilized energy sources, we are moving towards solar and wind energy.
Because solar and wind energy cannot provide all energy and a decision to also move away from natural gas, biomass plants seemed to be the perfect solution.
Biomass is plant or animal material used for energy production (electricity or heat). It can be purposely grown energy crops, wood or forest residues, waste from food crops (wheat straw), horticulture (yard waste), food processing (corn cobs), animal farming (manure, rich in nitrogen and phosphorus), or human waste from sewage plants.
Burning plant-derived biomass releases CO2, but it has still been classified as a renewable energy source in the EU and UN legal frameworks because photosynthesis cycles the CO2 back into new crops. In some cases, this recycling of CO2 from plants to atmosphere and back into plants can even be CO2 negative, as a relatively large portion of the CO2 is moved to the soil during each cycle.
However, over the past few months it has become clear how a lot of biomass comes from trees, that were previously pristine forests in the USA or the Baltics.
While in the best case, the use of biomass could even be CO2 negative, burning biomass will result in excessive CO2 output locally as well as of particulate matter.
This is why almost overnight, due to negative public opinion, politicians changed their mind. Too late though, there are already few hundred biomass plants that are being constructed due to substantial subsidies that were handed out, so we can expect a substantial worsening of air quality in the upcoming decade(s) because of the increased amount of particulate matter.
Zinc and HCQ
In the past few months, nearly everyone will have become familiar with the malaria drug hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) and how it has been welcomed as a miracle drug, only to be set aside as being too dangerous to expose sick patients with underlying cardiovascular diseases to it.
Upon learning how HCQ is supposed to be used in this crisis, I was flabbergasted to read how HCQ was put to use by itself, as a drug on its own. True enough, HCQ is a malaria drug, but it was not just meant to be used as a curative medicin on its own for COVID-19 but as a messenger to transport the true miracle mineral, zinc into cells.
The now famous Zelenko protocol which uses HCQ , azithromycin and zinc as well as a number of other essential vitamins and minerals, was never meant to be used in hospital either, but for use by doctors on patients who had just fallen ill.
Now the researchers who discredited HCQ in the Lancet article have been debunked as having used fraudulous data in order to promote a much more expensive drug in which one of the authors had a vested interested, we think it is about time to explain a thing or two on why and how HCQ is used in combination with zinc.
How to avoid lead poisoning
Although exposure to lead has decreased within the last two decades, it is still a concern and caution is advised, especially for children who have access to toys with lead-based paint or individuals who live in older homes. In some instances, lead can leach from the main water pipes and into the household water supply. If exposed to lead, eating a healthy diet can help reduce its absorption by the body.
When lead is consumed, research shows it can cause learning and behavior problems; as it accumulates, it can cause lasting problems with growth and development. Infants and children are at a higher risk because they absorb lead more quickly than adults, in addition to being more likely to put non-food items that might contain lead in their mouth.
How to prevent getting sick from the flu
You can prevent germs from making you ill in two ways: prevent entry into the body by careful hygiene, and if they do get in, make sure your body’s natural immune system is able to fight these germs, so they self-destruct before overwhelming the system.
Most flu germs are spread in two ways:
- touching such as hand-to-hand contact
- droplet spread when germs ride along on tiny water droplets that are sneezed or coughed into the air
Try these flu prevention tips to avoid person-to-person spread:
- avoid shaking hands, but bow or give a head nod
- avoid nose-picking as the nose is a breeding ground for germs
- sneeze into a disposable handkerchief and if you don't have one available, sneeze inside your elbow
- shun coughers and sneezers as much as possible.
- avoid crowded rooms
Breathe in, breathe out!Did you ever notice you don't have equal air flow through each nostril? Most people alternate between breathing through the left and the right nostril. The only time you are vividly aware of the existence of such a cycle is when you have congestion in just one side of the nose, which results in only being able to breathe more easily every few hours and then feel congested in the other period.
